Tommie Joe Buckner, 82, was born January 15, 1934 to his parents, James Clyde and Corna May (Davis) Buckner in Alvord, TX. During Tom’s life, he had many accomplishments. Tom was an Ordained Minister in the Churches of God for over 60 years. Tom’s main goal in life was telling people about Jesus and leading them to the Lord. In his ministry he married over 200 couples and baptized almost all the members of his family. He was a past Grand Chaplain of the Guthrie Scottish Rite, Chaplain Emeritus of the Innkeepers of the Guthrie Scottish Rite, member of India Temple Shrine, Past Master Order of the Eastern Star and Past Patron Myrtle Lodge. He was very proud to be retired from the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Department where he served as a Deputy Sheriff. He also served as Vice President of Convenience Stores at Coca Cola for over 25 years. Tom had an innate ability to make everyone feel special. He was a great husband, grandfather, and special friend.
He is survived by:
• His wife Geneva of 64 years
• Children, Pamela Redwine and husband Jim, of OKC and Tommy Joe Buckner, II and wife Linda, of Yukon
• Grandchildren, Heather Redwine and friend Misty, Hillary Davis and husband Jeff, Tommy Joe Buckner, III and wife Mashon, Paul Ross and Daniel Ross
• Great grandchildren, Mary Alyce Redwine and friend Taylor, Kathryn Redwine and friend Brianna, Micah Redwine and friend Miranda, Tiffany Davis, Gracie Redwine and Lizzie Davis
• And a host of friends and loved ones
