Viewing will be held Monday, January 16th and Tuesday, January 17th from 4-8 pm at the funeral home (6934 S. Western Ave)

Services to honor his life will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Resthaven Memory Gardens (500 SW 104th - between Walker and Western Ave)

Robert S. "Bob" Chambers was born on December 16, 1929, to Robert M. and Dorothy Dimmitt Chambers in Wewoka, OK. He passed from this life on January 13, 2017, in Oklahoma City, OK. Bob was baptized at the age of 12 at Exchange Baptist Church where his father was Minister of Music. Bob graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1946. He then served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1947 to 1950 where he hoped to be a meteorologist, but was instead chosen to be a cryptographer to decipher coded messages. Bob then attended OU for three years hoping to go to medical school. When that did not work out, he then took a job with Santa Fe Railroad where he worked for 37 years. It was at the Railroad office that he met a young secretary, Ruth Hickman, who became his wife. They were married in 1959 and enjoyed 57 years together, during which time they raised three sons.

He was preceded in death by:

Son David Chambers & wife Donna;
Daughter-in-law Stacy;
