The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Raymond Parker can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Swimming

In 1947 Gig's family lived on SW 34th street.  My mother, Gig's Aunt Millie, was busy giving birth to my baby sister and I was staying with Gig. It was awarm and sunny August day and Gig thought we should go swimming. His mother said I was too short. Gig, of course, called the swimming pool and asked how tall you had to be to use the pool. He got the answer, retrieved the yard stick and stood me up by the closet door to measure me. Lo and behold I was tall enough and he dragged his mother into his room to prove it!  We went swimming.
