Obituary for John Wesley Hail

John Wesley  Hail
John Wesley Hail, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle, passed on to heaven on Tuesday February 28, 2017 at the age of 86.

John was born on November 11, 1930 in Cincinnati, Ohio, son of Reverand Charles Bruce & Julia Ann (Dungan) Hail.

At the age of 17 John joined the Air Force in 1947 and proudly served his country in the Korean War. After the war, John’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to open his first business at the young age of 22, a Service Station in Knollwood, Ohio.

On May 20, 1950 John married the love of his life, Naomi Jean Scowden at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas. She preceded him in death on May 5, 1983. They moved to Oklahoma City in 1971 where John was involved in the development of many business ventures. He was President of National Foundation Life Insurance Company, owner of the Oklahoma City Stars Hockey Club, Co-founder of TVC Marketing & Founder & C.E.O. of Advantage Marketing Systems/AMS Health Sciences to name a few.

He is survived by his son, Gary Hail and wife Sindy of Edmond, OK; his daughters, Denise Loney of Oklahoma City and Vicki Bogert and husband Andy of Oklahoma City; his brother Joe Hail and wife Joyce of Dayton, Ohio; his grandchildren Deanna Ruth and husband Shane, Brian Bogert, John Hail and wife Cyndi, Dr. Stephanie Sando and husband Kebede, Amanda Allen, Danielle Fielding and husband Josh, D.J. Loney and wife Jenny, Brett Bogert, Shaun Hail, Brooke Bogert and Stone Hail; 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, his parents and eight siblings.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday March 2nd at Vondel Smith Mortuary North, 13125 N. MacArthur. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday March 3rd, 2017 in the Chapel of Crossings Community Church with interment following at Resurrection Cemetery.
