G.L. was born to Slats and Ima Deaton in Castle, OK. His family relocated to a few different cities but made their permanent home in Oklahoma City. He attended Capitol Hill high School. In the 60’s he worked for Kings Van and Storage moving company as an Owner/Operator. G.L. was a Teamster for over 50 years and drove for Time D.C., American Freight Lines and most recently Yellow Freight until his retirement in 2012. GL loved working outside in the yard. Before his wife passed in 2012, they always had projects to work on and improvements on the house, yard, flowers and landscaping.
