Mass of Christian Burial will take place 10 AM Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.


Louis Anthony Koman was born August 10, 1928 at Krebs, Oklahoma to Pete Steve and Anna Pearl (Ganton) Koman. He died Friday, May 5, 2017 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 88 years old. Louis was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was retired from Oklahoma Natural Gas Company where he worked as a welder. Louis served his country in the United States Airforce from 1950 to 1952 during the Korean War. Louis loved his family dearly. He was a kind man and enjoyed helping anyone that needed any kind of help. He loved to feed the doves and the birds. Earlier in his life he enjoyed fishing and making arts & craft items using his welding skills. Louis was always working and kept himself busy by doing such jobs as trimming tree limbs, sweeping sidewalks and raking leaves. He was a very frugal man and did all the home repairs around the house himself. He never lost his love for airplanes and fondly remembered his time spent in the Air Force. Louis was preceded in death by his wife Rose and his brother Pete. He is survived by his children, Fran Scotton of Edmond, Tim Koman of Oklahoma City, Tony Koman of Tulsa and Sandy and husband Grover Compton of McAlester; his twin sister, Lois Dougherty; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; other relatives and friends including his special friend Betty Osburn.
