Nellie Jo (Rutledge) Allen was born April 29, 1939 in Chickasha, OK the daughter of Horace Delmer and Nola Bee (Thornton) Rutledge. She completed this life on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at the age of 78.

Jo was trained as a Registered Nurse at the Clinton General Hospital School of Nursing. She dedicated her life to nursing having retired from Mercy Health Center as an Oncology Nurse.

Jo married Gordon Keith Allen on July 23, 1960. They moved to Oklahoma City where they raised their family. They were active members of New Hope United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on November 26, 2004.

Jo is survived by her sons, Gregory P. Allen and his wife Kathy of Choctaw, OK, Michael S. Allen and his wife Annemarie of East Sandwich, MA and Daniel K. Allen of Oklahoma City; her daughter, Patti Brown and her husband Mike of Norman, OK; her grandchildren, Marshall Brown, , Zachary Allen, Katelyn Allen, Jacob Allen, Seth Allen, Sarah Allen, Hannah Allen, Hayden Allen, Landry Allen, Lindsey Cooper and Chase Dawson; her great grandchildren, Sophia Allen, William Jacob Allen and Grayson Cooper.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday in the Vondel Smith Mortuary North, 13125 N. MacArthur. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 17th at New Hope United Methodist Church. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Arapaho Cemetery.
