Leslie Roy Hilbun, a resident of Edmond, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, August 31, 2017 at the age of 70. He was born February 27, 1947 in Cleveland, Texas to his parents, Parker and Norma Hilbun. Leslie graduated from Cleveland High School in 1966 and went on to attend Sam Houston State College in Huntsville, Texas, South Texas Junior College in Houston, Texas, Oklahoma City Community College Junior College in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma graduating with an Associates Degree in 1977 and later attended University of Central Oklahoma, Edmond, Oklahoma. Leslie served 4 years in the United States Air Force, both in the States and Europe, where he played baseball and worked in supply. He later spent time in the Air National Guard in Oklahoma City. Leslie was employed by General Motors in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma for 27 years and retired in 2006. He enjoyed coaching both his daughter and son in sports over the years and was a band parents for the Mustang Schools. After his children graduated, Les coached girls travel softball for 15 years accumulating 123 scholarships. He always said it was “the girls who get the credit.” He was then fortunate enough to coach college softball at Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Oklahoma and Mid-America University in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Nothing was as important as his children and grandchildren. Les attended their functions and was a proud Papa. Les was a 32 degree Mason and wore his father’s ring proudly. He will be deeply missed.

Father, Parker Hilbun;
Mother, Norma Hilbun;
Step-father, Orville Fish;
Son, Scott Wayne Hilbun.

Les is survived by his:
Wife of 45 years, Elaine Hilbun;
Daughter, Heather Hilbun of Buckeye, Arizona;
Son, Brandon Hilbun and his wife, Joyce of Newcastle, OK;
Granddaughters: Kayla, Savanna, and Skyy;
Grandson, Scott.
Brothers-in-law: Marvin Misemer and wife, Debra of Blue Springs, Missouri; Keith Misemer and wife, Robin of Baltimore, Maryland;
Many aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins.
