Jim, 85, went to be with the Lord on Nov. 18, 2017. The son of Marion Nathaniel & Grace Day, Jim was born Sept. 23, 1932 in Frederick, OK. After graduating from Foster High School, Jim honorably served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War. He served as a Naval Radio Operator on the USS The Sullivans. Jim later continued his education at OU where he earned a degree in Accounting. He married his sweetheart, Sandra Ann Riley, on Aug. 20, 1955, & together they shared more than 62 years of marriage while raising their daughters, Dana & Amy. Jim provided a warm & loving home for his family by working as an ATF Agent for the US Government and later as the General Manager for Tyler Outdoor Advertising for many years. When Jim wasn’t working, he was an avid outdoorsman. Jim enjoyed golfing, fishing, traveling, scuba diving, snow skiing, and spending time at the family farm near Lake Texoma, where he enjoyed captaining the boat and water skiing (he was even a slalom skier in his 80’s!). Jim was known for his zest for living a full & adventurous life. He will be fondly remembered for being a true family man, who loved his family with all of his heart. Jim will be deeply missed.
