Barbara Gretchen Grindstaff entered Heaven’s gates on Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at the age of 83. The daughter of Josephine (Smith) & William Edward Craft, Barbara was born July 8, 1934 in Scarbro, West Virginia. After graduating high school in Scarbro, Barbara married her sweetheart, Harry Benjamin Grindstaff on October 13, 1951 and together they shared more than 65 years of marriage and raising a family before his passing earlier this year on March 15, 2017. In addition to being a loving Army and Air Force military wife, devoted mother to their children Barbara was a telephone operator at Southwestern Bell for many years. In her spare time, Barbara enjoyed bowling and antiquing, but most of all just being with her family. Barbara will be remembered for her warm smile and kind spirit, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. We rest in peace knowing she is spending the Christmas holiday with her beloved husband this year.
