Eva “Vergie” Guion joined Heaven’s angels on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at the age of 90. The daughter of Amy Gertrude (Freeman) and Huber Hobert England, Vergie was born on January 1, 1928 in Fay, Oklahoma. She graduated from Fay High School in 1944, where she was on two State High School Girl’s Championship Basketball teams. On August 22, 1952, she married the love of her life, Joseph Howard Guion and together shared more than 55 years of marriage, raising a family and serving the Lord together before his passing in 2007. Their union was blessed with two children, Paul Guion and Cynthia Black. In addition to being a loving wife and devoted mother, Vergie dedicated her life to providing a warm and loving home for her family. In her spare time, Vergie enjoyed such hobbies as gardening and embroidery, but most of all enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. As a deaconess and longtime member of Southminster Presbyterian Church, Vergie was active in its Women’s Church service.

Vergie leaves behind the following close family members:
Daughter: Cynthia Black; Son: Paul Guion and wife Donna; Sisters: Dorothy Shanley and Vera Burgin; Grandchildren: Christopher Black and wife Carrie, Thea Black, Brandon Guion, and Blake Guion & wife Katie; Great-Grandchildren: Tessa Black, Ian Black, William Black, Addison Guion, and Averi Guion.
She also leaves behind many other loving family members and friends.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
