Val (Oelke) Davis went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 26, 2018 at the age of 78. The daughter of Ernst Wilhelm and Luise Gertrud (Stolzenburg) Oelke, Val was born August 12, 1939 in Polch, Germany. She grew up and attended schools in Germany before meeting her one true love, George Patrick Davis. They were united in marriage on April 1, 1960 in Germany. Shortly thereafter, they moved to the US to start a life and family together. In July of 1977 they moved to Oklahoma City where they raised their children. Val was a loving wife and devoted mother, who dedicated her life to caring for family, providing a loving home, serving the Lord and others. She was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was very active and volunteered in various capacities through her years there. She enjoyed traveling, taking cruises with her husband, George, traveling to see family & friends in Germany and spending time with family at their cabin in Wyoming. She enjoyed bowling and playing Bingo, but nothing was as important to her as being with her family, especially her grandchildren of whom she was extremely proud. She will be forever missed. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George P. Davis on June 26, 2005; and brother, Rolf Oelke. She leaves cherished memories with her loving family: daughter, Diana Buchanan and her husband, Alan of Keller, TX; son, Kenneth R. Davis and his wife, Sarah of Highlands Ranch, CO; 6 grandchildren: Austin, Aaron, & Megan Buchanan and Jacob, Andrew & Cassie Davis; as well as many other loving family and friends.
