Services to honor the life of Bill will be held 11:00am Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

William Azel Ames, lovingly known as Bill, 97, departed this earthly life for his Heavenly home on Sept 2, 2018. The son of William Glenn & Daisy (Bohn) Ames, Bill was born Jan 21, 1921 in New Virginia, IA. After graduating from Geary HS, Bill honorably served his country in the US Army during WWII. Bill married the love of his life, Nadine Marie Bottom and together shared many wonderful years together making memories and raising their family until her death in 1981. After leaving active duty, he provided a warm & loving home for his family by working at Tinker AFB for over 25 years where he was a skilled cabinet maker. When Bill wasn’t working, he enjoyed golfing and gardening. Most of all, Bill loved his family. He was a very kind-hearted man who always put the needs of others first. Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be deeply miss by all who knew him.

Bill is preceded in death by his:
Parents;
Wife~ Nadine Ames;
Brother~ Doyle Ames;
Sisters~ Dorothy and Darlene.

He is survived by:
Daughter~ Cheryl Wilkes and husband Don;
Sister~ Phyllis Daniel and husband Doyle;
Grandchildren~ Lori Nivens, and Michael Wilkes and his wife Angela;
Great-grandchildren~ April Wilkes, Destiny Vinson, Katelyn Frank and husband Brandon, and Kaleb Nivens;
Great-great-grandchildren~ Landon and Matthew Frank;
Many other extended family members and friends.
