I worked with Betty for many years as her assistant. When I first started working with Betty I recognized right away how smart she was and I knew I could learn a lot from her. She was a perfectionist and a professional! Hard to endure sometimes, but I loved these qualities about her. It made her excellent at her work and me better at mine!
After being at OSLA about a year and half the company was changing presidents. It was a stressful time, we both admired the president we had (Dr. Gene Satterfield). I went to ask Betty what was going on and she said to me some profound words that I will carry for many years. She said, "Change will come, in life and on jobs. You have to learn to go with the change. It will be okay, learn to ride the wave of change." Those words stuck with me and has helped me many a times at work and through life. I pass them on at every opportunity.
Before my dad passed away,he left me words too. One day when my family was trying to make him as comfortable as possible. He just stopped and said,"No more worries." He was silently saying to us no need to keep working and fussing over me, all has been done, rest.
I want to say to Betty's wonderful family, she made a difference in my life. Her words to embrace change will forever stay with me. She put her heart in her work for OSLA. And I'm thankful she a was able to retire and spend time with her family. No more worries.
May God grant your family much comfort and peace at this time and may His blessings be poured out on you richly as you walk this journey of life.

I am so sorry for the family’s loss. Death is one of the hardest trials to cope with. May you find comfort from the future promise recorded in Revelation 21:4 which says “he [God] will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more.” We have assurance from God’s word the Bible itself and we can be certain he will fulfill his words.
