Manon, 102, was born to Pat & Dora Logan, September 20, 1911 in Wister, OK. She passed away September 29, 2013. In 1923 her family moved to Norman, OK where she graduated from Norman High School. She received a Bachelor & Master’s Degree in education from Oklahoma University. She was a life member of the OU Alumni Association. After teaching 45 years & retiring in 1977, she joined the Oklahoma County Retired Education Association. In 2002 they presented her with the Pioneer Teacher Award. She was a longtime member of The Lunch Bunch. She was a past president of her Teacher’s Sorority, Kappa Kappa Iota,& a past president of the South Oklahoma City Newcomer’s Alumni Club. Manon was a member of Trinity Church of the Nazarene & a member of the Optimist Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 43 years, George Zurline, a sister & a niece. She is survived by some cousins & a host of friends.
Viewing will be from 4-8 PM Friday. Services to celebrate her life will be 10:00 AM Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary, 6934 S. Western Ave. with burial following at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Norman, OK.
