Obituary for Billie Clarice Williams

Vondel Smith Mortuary at South Lakes

Billie Clarice Williams, 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Victoria Gardens, Allen, Texas.

Billie was born May 15, 1928 in Francis, Oklahoma, to Joe C. Hooser and Isa Dora (Baker) Hooser; she grew up in Francis and graduated from high school as class valedictorian.

She married Ray David Williams on August 16, 1946, they soon moved to Oklahoma City and enjoyed 34 years of a very special marriage.

Billie was a homemaker, a church secretary, and retired from the City of Oklahoma City as a clerk for the Community Development Department. She moved to Texas in 1996 where she lived with family until relocating to Ada, Oklahoma in 2002. She later moved to Pauls Valley with her niece, Gale (Peck) Pinley. Billie was an accomplished seamstress, quilter, and had a tremendous passion for reading!

In June of 2017, Billie moved to Texas and in August moved into Victoria Gardens of Allen, a rehab and skilled nursing facility. While many daily tasks became impossible for her during the last months, those who knew her well would not be surprised to know that she was still able to read books and her Bible on her iPad until the last few days of her life.

Billie is survived by her son, Joseph David Williams of Ecuador, South America; her daughter-in-law, Carla (Jones) Williams of Dallas, Texas; her daughter, Pamela Rae (Williams) Nerpel and her son-in-law, Ray C. Nerpel, of Wylie, Texas.

She leaves behind her grandchildren: Jeremy (Meredith) Nerpel, Cassandra (Steve) Ragsdale, Melissa (Roger) van Beveren, Raymond (Saba) Nerpel and Trevor (Kimberly) Nerpel; her great-grandchildren: Makayla and Xander Nerpel; Grace, Kendall and Emily van Beveren; Jason and Carter Ragsdale; and John and Hailey Kreideweis; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and other loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ray, her parents, her siblings, Maude Peck, Vera Jo Rowland and Vernon Hooser and countless others who she loved deeply.

The family is very grateful for the loving care given by the staff at Victoria Gardens and New Century Hospice and for special friends who visited Billie often and made her last days easier.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, January 3, 2018, 10:00am, at Vondel Smith South Lakes Mortuary, 4000 SW 119th, OKC, OK, with interment following at Resthaven Memory Gardens, 500 SW 104th, OKC, OK.
