Alma Elsie (Flessati)  Meek
Alma Elsie Meek was born August 15, 1926 in Freeland, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Emmanuel and Frances (Seppi) Flessati. She completed this life on Sunday, December 31, 2017 in Plano, Texas at the age of 91 years. Her passing was almost to the hour, four years, after the passing of her husband John Meek of 58 years. He passed on Dec 31, 2013.

After graduation from Freeland High School in 1944, Alma attended Nursing School in Philadelphia becoming a Registered Nurse in 1947. After working as a nurse for 3+ years Alma volunteered for the Air Force after the start of the Korea War. Alma served her country in the United States Air Force Nursing Corp during the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1953. She married John Marlar Meek on August 27, 1955 in Freeland, PA. They raised six children, later moved to Oklahoma City where she worked as a Registered Nurse for Baptist Hospital and Bethany General Hospital.

Alma was preceded in death by her husband, John and her son, Joe Marlar Meek.

Alma is survived by her daughter, Jane F. Meek; her sons, John W. Meek and his wife Anna Maria, James Meek and his wife Jeanna, Justin Meek, and Jerry W. Meek and his wife Ruth; her sister, Agnes Batcha; her grandchildren, Michelle Meek, Ashley Meek, James B. Meek, Will Meek, Joel Vann, Josh Vann, Kristyn Meek and Kaitlyn Meek; her great grandchildren, Nathalie Cocciolone, Nicholas Cocciolone, Rhett Ferguson, John J. Meek, Emma Vann, Mason Vann, Jonathan Vann and Jessie Vann; her nieces, Frances Hollednak, Becky Batcha, Maribeth Batcha, and Susan Meek; Nephews, Stephen Batcha and David Meek.

A Mass will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, Jan. 5th in Church of the Epiphany of the Lord, 7336 W. Britton RD. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery with Air Force Military honors.
