Obituary for Argie Chalos Caporal

Argie Chalos Caporal

Argie Chalos Caporal was born July 23, 1934 in Gary, Indiana the daughter of Gust and Helen (Stathapoulos) Chalos. She fell asleep in the Lord on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at the age of 83.

Argie married the love of her life, Peter Sam Caporal on September 6, 1953. She moved to Oklahoma City where they have made their home ever since. Argie helped her husband run their theater business for many years, and then got into business with her daughter opening a travel agency, a nanny training and placement agency, and then an adult education school which they successfully ran together for many years. She started working at Dillards in 2008 and absolutely loved working there in the women’s clothing department, as she loved being around people and helping them look and feel their best. In 2017 she retired from Dillards, and spent time helping care for her great-grandchildren which brought her innumerous joy and happiness, along with spending time with her daughter Dee, and granddaughters Tina and Lexi.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 59 years, Pete, on April 1, 2013; her son, Sam Peter Caporal on December 11, 1994; and her brother, William G. Chalos.

She is survived by her daughter, Demetra “Dee” Hoshall and her husband Tom; her Granddaughters, Christina Hess and her husband Paul and Lexi Amos and her husband Matt; her great Grandchildren, Holt Amos, Cameron Hess, Elena Amos and Coe Amos; her sisters-in-law, Mrs. William G. Chalos, Mrs. Lillian Gambulous and Mrs. George Caporal; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She lived to love her family, and spent much of her time helping raise her granddaughters. To know her was to love her. She was the “unofficial” therapist to family, friends, and even strangers. She was a pure beautiful soul who never had a bad word to say about anyone. She would always say that you can find something to like in anyone. She will be missed more than words, but Heaven has gained an Angel.
