Dewey "Jack" Jay
Dewey B. “Jack” Jay made the miraculous journey from this life to the next on February 8, 2018. He was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. He was born January 2, 1921 in Bowie, Texas. He was the youngest of 13 children. Dewey was an honored member of “America’s Greatest Generation.” He was a Pearl Harbor survivor, serving at Hickam Field during that fateful day of 1941. His service continued the rest of his natural life. As a 50 plus year member of Faith Tabernacle he served as both an Usher and a Deacon. In addition to his service to the Church through ministry was also his love to mentor young men. Many successful businessmen in Oklahoma City can thank Dewey for the countless hours he invested in their lives as a baseball coach and a softball coach. As a 97-year-old man, Dewey saw a lot of change during his lifetime. But the one constant in his life was his devotion to his Lord and Savior and his family. His love for God’s Word continued until his last days, even after losing most of his eye sight he consistently read his Bible with the help of a magnifying reader. His knowledge of the Holy Scriptures was an inspiration to all that knew him. He is survived by his wife Wanda of the home, stepdaughter Deanna Story and her husband Mike of Manford, daughter Sue Foreman of Oklahoma City, daughter Jackie McClain and her husband Keith of Yukon, daughter Debbie Brown and her husband Richard of Yukon, grand children Robert Tindall, Heath Jay, Kara Armoudian, Brandi Brown, Laci Streeter, Dustin Brown, Jared McClain, Stephen Brown, 6 great-grandchildren and 4 great great-grand children. He is preceded in death by his first wife Emma, his daughter Bobbie Campbell, his sons Dalton Jay and Larry Jay.
