Our beloved Helen Elizabeth Curtis passed away Sunday, March 11, 2018 in Albuquerque, NM at the age of 93. Helen was born January 3, 1925 in Chattanooga, TN to Edgar Dean and Lillie Mae Henry. Her childhood was spent in Chattanooga where she graduated from Central High School. At the age of 19, she got a job at the Pentagon working during Mr. Roosevelt's presidency. Helen married the love of her life, James H. Curtis in Melbourne, FL on April 8, 1946. She gave her life to our Savior Jesus Christ in May 1946, when soon after, she joined James in a partnership in the pastorate life. She would often create chalk drawings to accompany James' Sunday message. Together, they lived in California, New Mexico, Texas and Oklahoma. She also traveled to Costa Rica, Venezuela, Australia, Hawaii and Alaska with James. Helen held offices with the State and National organizations of the Women of the Church of God. She taught Sunday school of years and was known for her love of God and her tremendous love of people. She completed 13 devotional books in the last 15 years of her life. She was preceded in death by husband, James Curtis; daughter, Deanne Curtis; mother, Lillie Henry; father, Edgar Henry and brother, Bob Henry. Helen is survived by her loving son, Jim (Lauri); Grandchildren: Kelly(Cindy), Kyle (Brooke), Koby (Nicole), Scott (Kathleen), Rustin (Elizabeth), Jerry, Matthew (Julie), as well as 8 great grandchildren.
