The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Woodrow Stevens can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

The lighting of a Memorial Candle not only provides a gesture of sympathy and support to the immediate family during their time of need but also provides the gift of extending the Book of Memories for future generations.

1972

When I was 10-years-old I attended Calvary Pentecostal Holiness Church where Rev. Stevens was the preacher. My mother and I had been attending services for about a year when we were in a car accident. My mother was killed and I was wounded and required a stay in the hospital. After about 5 days in the hospital, the doctor told me my mother had died. After the doctor left the room Rev. Stevens immediately came in. I dont remember all he said but he prayed with me and assured me my mother was with Jesus. I can remember feeling more comfort from him than I did from my family. Looking back I imagine it was a difficult situation for him to comfort a young, motherless child who was the same age as his children. Im sure I never thanked him, so I will now...thank you, Rev. Stevens. May you find eternal peace and happiness with the Lord.
