William “Billy” Anthony Barnet, 38, peacefully departed earth to be with his Lord and Savior after a lengthy health battle. He was surrounded by his family during his final days and they are thankful to have been by his side. Billy was born October 5, 1979 in Wichita, Kansas to Butch & Bonita Barnett. When Billy was 4 months old his family relocated to South Oklahoma City / Moore where he was raised along with his 3 brothers Robert, Lance and Paul. He learned the importance of family at a very young age. Billy’s 3 cousins Michael, David and Ricky lived with Billy and his family for around 13 years. They formed such a strong bond that all of them consider each other brothers to this day. Billy really enjoyed playing sports with his brothers. He had a passion for the Lord and sharing the gospel. He also had a love for music. He liked almost any style of music because what really drew him in more than anything were the lyrics. Billy was also an avid OU Football fan, getting together on game days was a family tradition. Billy grew up going to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, W.E.L.L.S. and he learned many valuable lessons there which he carried with him over the years. Billy was blessed with two children, Skylah & Troy, and he loved them wholeheartedly and would do anything to protect them. In 2014 Billy expanded his family when he married Kimberly Arnold, and he gained another son and daughter, Parker and Mackenzie that he grew to love as his own. During a difficult time in Billy’s life he made the decision to let Christ be the center of his life. He and his wife Kim were active members at Southern Hills Baptist Church. Billy was a hard worker and always did his best to provide for his family. He worked for Associated Wholesale Grocers for 7 years. Although, he enjoyed the work with AWG, Billy’s real passion was framing houses alongside his brothers Paul and Lance. In April 2016 Billy was diagnosed with Leukemia. He received a Bone Marrow Transplant in September 2016 from an anonymous donor that his family is extremely grateful for. The transplant allowed him to go into remission and stay in remission. However, a new battle began with dealing with graft vs host over the next two years. During this time the Lord really used Billy through his illness to share his story and the love of God to all that he came in contact with. Billy will be remembered for his love for the Lord, sense of humor and love for his family. Although he is no longer on this earth his memory will live on through each life he touched.
