Verla June Holten, 84, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was born June 9, 1934 in Weatherford, Oklahoma to her parents, Wesley Jefferson & Cristal Margurite (DeMotte) Hodge. After graduating from Capitol Hill High School, she found work as a secretary at various businesses before finally landing at Tinker Air Force Base where she worked for over 20 years until her retirement. She loved crocheting and spending time with family and friends. Verla will be remembered as a caring, loving person who would do whatever she could for others and always went above and beyond the call of duty for those she loved. Verla will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her:
Parents, Wesley and Cristal;
Children, Gene McDonald, Duane McDonald, and Karen McDonald-Nunley.

She is survived by her:
Son, Kevin McDonald;
Grandson, Nathan Lansford;
Granddaughter, Elizabeth Britt;
Granddaughter , Ashley McDonald;
And many other nephews, nieces, great-grandchildren and other extended family and friends.
