George A. “Pete” Simms has gone to be with our Lord October 9, 2018. Pete was born May 10th, 1930 in Oklahoma City, OK.
Loved ones that cleared the path for Pete are his mother, Frances, father, Howard, eldest son, Ronnie and son-in-law Ralph Watley.
Loved ones that will miss Pete until they meet again include his loving Wife and partner-in-crime of 60 years Joyce; daughter Deborah Springall and husband Bert; daughter Peggy Simms-Watley; son Jerry Simms and wife Jaime; 11 grandchildren and their spouses‘; 15 (and counting) great grandchildren. A slew of extending family and friends.

Pete proudly served in the U.S. Army and is a 4 yr. Korean War Veteran awarded 5 Bronze Star Medals.
He was a member of Myrtle Masonic Lodge #145 and active with the Oklahoma City India Shriners.
For countless years an avid Race-Car enthusiast, motorcycle rider, dune-buggy hobbyist and Jack-of-all-motor-Trades. There was no project that Pete would not take head-on. Successful or not.
After retiring from FAA after 28 years he and Joyce became entrepreneurs, first with a Shrimp boat in South Texas, supplying the OKC area with fresh shrimp, which then parlayed into a successful hot-shot trucking company servicing the 48 contiguous United States.
They then transitioned into food concession trailers, catering numerous oil field auctions, The Oklahoma State Fair for 17 years and various festivals throughout Oklahoma, as well as designing and building concession trailers for sale.
Pete & Joyce enjoyed their retirement traveling Europe for a stint, then touring the U.S. in their motor home before settling in Rockport, Texas for several years.
Returning to the Oklahoma City-Harrah area several years ago, this remained home until his passing.

Pete will forever be lovingly and fondly remembered as Husband, Dad, Pappa Pete, and an avid conversationalist.
