Betty, 88, passed away surrounded by her family on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2018. She was born February 27, 1930 in Shawnee, OK to Liston & Ora (Walker) Scott. She moved to OKC as a young girl graduating from Central H. S. She married Carl Robert “Bob” Overstreet in OKC in 1950. They moved to Beaumont, TX for a short while, returning to OKC where they raised their family. Betty worked at Southwestern Bell for a brief period. Following this, she & Bob worked together in the family business, Scott Cleaners, retiring in 1983. She spent a few years at Sears Roebuck working in the credit department. After a brief break from working she accepted the position of church secretary at Antioch Christian Church where she retired. Betty always put family first & was a loving & devoted wife, mother, grandmother & friend. She will always be remembered for her ready smile, sweet disposition & caring spirit. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Bob; brother Junior Scott; sister Patsy Anne Buchanan & niece Victorria Buchanan. She is survived by her son Robert Scott Overstreet & his wife Connie; daughter Karla Beth Young & her husband Shannon; grandchildren Kristi Hubble & husband Ron; Kameron Overstreet & wife Christy; Bethanie Parker & husband Ryan; great grandchildren Kieran Zepu & husband Dewitt; Logan, Bryan, Easton, Kate, Kara, Colin & Kaedon; Brother in law Ralph Buchanan & nephew Mark Buchanan & his son Gabriel Buchanan. Viewing & Visitation will be held today from 4–8 PM, at the funeral home. The family will be present 6-8 PM to greet friends. Services to honor & remember her life will be held on Friday, November 16, 2018 at 2 PM at Vondel L. Smith/South Lakes 4000 S. W. 119th OKC, 73173. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to her daily caregiver Yoly Acosta German for her loving & attentive care over the last two years & the Valir Hospice associates.
