Obituary for Ida Belle Talley Hopkins Allison

Ida Belle Talley Hopkins Allison, 95, of Hitchita, Oklahoma was born June 18, 1923 at Bucktown, Arkansas to Ernest Guy and Mary Savilla (Johnson) Talley. She died November 14, 2018 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Ida worked at the Rationing Board in Hot Springs Arkansas during WWII. After marring Otis Hopkins, Ida moved to Okmulgee in 1945 where she was a long time member of the Okmulgee Church of Christ. After Otis’ death Ida met and married Bud Allison and moved to Hitchita in 1967. She then became a member of the Checotah Church of Christ. Ida loved to sew and made many of her family’s clothes. She loved to quilt and gifted many quilts to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ida canned green beans, black-eyed peas, tomatoes, pickles and many other vegetables every year even up into her late 80’s. Ida had an amazing gift to know literally every family member’s date of birth and dates of death for those that had passed on. She hand wrote countless volumes of family history and kept everything organized in notebooks. She loved her family dearly. She loved to cook for family gatherings and family reunions. Visiting with family and friends made Ida the happiest.
