Services to celebrate and remember his life will be held at 10:00am, Friday December 29th 2018 at Vondel Smith Mortuary at South Lakes (4000 SW 119th St.) with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.

In Lieu of flowers the family wishes donations be made on behalf of Ron McClure to the V.A. Center in Norman, Ok. (1776 E. Robinson, Norman Oklahoma 73071).

Ronald Dean McClure, 84, entered Heaven’s gates on December 24th 2018. He was born in Oklahoma City to Samuel C and Lula McClure where he was raised, graduating from Capital Hill High School in 1952. He later enlisted in the United States army and proudly served his country in Korea. Ron worked 37 years for the Oklahoma Publishing Company in both the city and state circulation departments and was always thankful for his career. Ron loved the Lord and throughout his life was actively serving in the local church in various leadership and volunteer positions. At the time of his death he was a member of the Southern Hills Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. Ron was a loving and generous man who could always lift others around him with his sense of humor and many funny stories. His acts of kindness and generosity to others in need defined who he was. Words cannot adequately describe how much he was loved or how much he will be missed.

His parents, Samuel and Lula, his sister Arvigene Flanikan, and Gwen McClure, his wife of 49 years all preceded Ron in death.

Ron is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 13 years Patsy,

his stepson David,

three daughters, Sheila Brock, Rhonda Bratton, and Tracy Butler,

along with six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Dear Patsy and Family, My heart is heavy for you as you mourn the loss of your beloved husband, father, grandfather. My sincere hope and prayer is that you take comfort in the fact that Ron is no longer confined to a body that is worn and restraining his quality of life. My little Papa, Vernon McCurdy, who passed on September 12th of this year, always looked out for Ron and wished with his whole heart that Ron would be well and whole again. I grew to love you all, and Papa did too during the time Ron and Papa were at the Veteran's care center in Norman. May your hearts be comforted in love, and may your memories of Ron and his legacy strengthen you during this time. I will by happy to make a donation to the Veteran's Care Center in Ron's honor. Love always, Carol Madden Ada, OK

I am so sorry for your loss. May the words of our loving heavenly Father bring your family comfort and strength during this most difficult time as He promises to bring our loved ones back to life in a perfect world where there will be no more suffering or death (John 5:28-29 & Revelation 21:4).

I am so sorry for the family’s loss. Death is truly an enemy. May you find comfort from the future promise recorded in 1 Corinthians 15:26 which says “the last enemy, death, is to be brought to nothing.” This is a promise from God’s word the Bible and we can be certain he will fulfill his promises.
