Obituary for Betty Sue Ozment
Viewing will be from 12PM-8PM Sunday and from 4PM-8PM Monday at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
Betty Sue Ozment, 87, passed away October 3, 2019. She was born to Marion Henry McGowan and Alice Estella (Vaughan) McGowan in Retrop, Oklahoma. Betty married Richard Ray Ozment in 1955 and from their union they had two children, Philip and Ramolee. They were married for 53 years. Betty enjoyed traveling all over the world to new and interesting places. She was musically talented and loved to play the accordion. Before her marriage, Betty and her sisters would sing on the radio in western Oklahoma. She also made a few appearances with her sisters on a local country variety show broadcast on WKY-TV. Betty was a loving mother and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Ray Ozment; brothers, Marion McGowan, Billy McGowan, Jerry McGowan; and sisters, Mary (McGowan) Ferris, Janyce (McGowan) De La Rosa, Gloria (McGowan) Gutierrez, and Yvonne (McGowan) DeVaney. Betty leaves behind her loving daughter, Ramolee Ozment; son, Philip Ozment and wife, Nina; as well as multiple nieces and nephews.
