Obituary for Donald Lee Roark

Don went to be with the Lord, his parents, and his brothers on October 20, 2019. He was a wonderful husband, grandfather, and great grandfather. He will be deeply missed by all those he touched. He never met a stranger, and tried to take care of everyone around him.
He was born in Rolla, Missouri on October 21, 1939 to Edna and Garrett Roark. He served 4 years in the army reserves as a mess sergeant, and would never let you forget it when it came time to prepare the next meal.
He was in the western boot business until his retirement in 2012. He made so many wonderful friends during his career and was very grateful for all of them.
This will be the first time all his friends will learn how old Don actually was. It was a standing joke that every birthday was his 39th until he had grandchildren, then he reluctantly agreed to be 49. The joke was on his family when he passed from us 2 hours before his 80th birthday. We showed him by going out and celebrating his birthday anyway. We even sang him happy birthday and blew out his candles.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Meri, his daughters Shannon Roark Larson and Traci Miller, her husband Mark his son William Tarwater granddaughters Kelsi and Halli Larson, Christin Larson Walker, her husband Doug and Meg Miller great grandsons Ryder and Kord Walker.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 24, 2019 at Vondel Smith North Colonial Chapel, 13125 N. MacArthur Blvd. OKC, OK.
