Auda Bell Vargas was called home by her heavenly father on December 25, 2019 at her home. She was born March 24, 1925 to Walter and Fannie Mabray in Sardis, Oklahoma. Auda married Max Vargas in 1943 and from their union they had two daughters, Karen and Deborah. Auda was a longtime member of Exchange Ave Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, OK and also attended Bay Ave Baptist Church in Texas while living with Karen. She very much enjoyed attending church, reading her bible and participating in the church activities. She taught Sunday school classes and sung in the choir with her sister when they were younger. She was also a Girl Scout and Brownie leader where she enjoyed making crafts and planning activities for her Girl Scout troop. Auda spent her working years selling women’s clothing at several department stores. She was most proud of her experience with Rothschild’s Clothing where she served 25 years with the company, receiving a pin of recognition. Her passion was helping others with her knowledge of fashion and styles. When her children were young, Auda and Max would travel all over the United States with them. She loved seeing new places. She also enjoyed sewing and making doll clothes. Auda loved to be with her family and she was a very loving grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Auda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Max Vargas; sisters, Dessie Borden, Clessie Mabray; brothers, Melvin Mabray, and Henry “H.A.” Mabray.
