Sonja Roxanne Porter, the DUI Diva of Oklahoma, entered into eternity with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 18, 2020, after a long battle with cancer. She was born March 22, 1972 in Kingsport, Tennessee. She was the wife of James A Porter III; mother of Jozef Donovan Porter, Sean Christopher Porter, and Mikayla Rose Porter. She was preceded in death by daughter, Charity Porter.

I just saw the obituary today as I was catching up on my newspapers. Jim and kids I am so very sorry for your loss.
I first met Sonja when we were in law school together and enjoyed every encounter with her since then. She was always full of life - her smile and laughter is what I'll remember most. Sonja was so dedicated to serving her clients and making sure that everyone had fair representation. as well as making an impact on legislation that involved them.
I know she fought a great fight - she did everything she could to remain on earth as long could for each of you. Know that you all were her world and she loved you beyond measure. While not physically here, she will always be with you in spirit.
She will be greatly missed by all whose life she touched..

Porter family, we are so very sad for your loss. Please accept our condolences. I had the privilege of meeting your mother/wife at legal seminars for NCDD. She was a great public speaker I gave all of us so much courage to do what we do. Seeing Sonja work so hard and do so well while battling cancer was very inspirational to all of us. God Bless.

To Jim and your family, I am unable to fully express the emotions I have encounter over the past week upon hearing the news that Sonja had lost her battle with cancer. As you know she and I got to become good friends during our many trips to the State Capital in our feeble attempts to convince legislators that they were about to pass un unconstitutional law. Then the numerous hours spent working on the lawsuit and subsequent oral argument. I can tell you that I would not have been able to do that on my own. Sonja did a wonderful job on that case, and her confidence when we appeared before the Supreme Court really settled my nerves and put me at ease. It was an honor to work with her and to be recognized both Nationally and at the State level for our work. I will miss getting to discuss the law with her and the wisdom she provided, but it pales in comparison to the loss to your family. May God provide comfort to you all. Respectfully, Brian Morton.

I am so sorry for your loss. Sonja was a good friend and mentor to me for many years. She always helped me any way she could. She was brilliant, and used her talents and gifts to honor the Lord and serve others. She will be severely missed by so many. Our prayers are with the Porter and Briggs families. May you know God's grace and love now more than ever.
