Joy Viola Peachee Massey was born on May 23, 1917 to John Ira and Minnie Keck Peachee. She left this world July 21, 2020 in Norman, Oklahoma.

To Joy's family I'm truly sorry for your loss. She was such a wonderful lady. I had lots of jobs with "the phone company" and my first job as an operator was in the Norman office when Joy was the clerk. It became very clear early on that she was the key to running that office efficiently. She was truly amazing. I learned so much from her over the years and am so glad I was privileged to work with her. She had a strong influence in my career and I will always appreciate what I learned while working with her. I got to see her a few times at the retiree luncheons and enjoyed every visit. One time she came by my house and left me a bunch of Surprise Lily to plant in my garden. They still bloom every year and in fact just started blooming this week. I will always be reminded of her when I see those beautiful flowers. God bless you all. - Barbara Henderson

My husband, John, and I worked as operators with Joy in the Norman office in the 70's. She was fun to work with & we always looked forward to seeing her. Even after she retired, we still saw her at monthly lunches and sadly, at funerals of other operators. We always enjoyed visiting with her.
