Billie Jo (Hughes) Harris
February 19, 1928 - July 29, 2020

Billie Jo (Hughes) Harris was born February 19, 1928 in Post, Texas the daughter of Arthur Marion and MaeBelle (Laxton) Hughes. She completed this life on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at the age of 92.

At a very young age Billie suddenly found herself alone in this world with three small children. She had no means of support, no job as well as no car. A determined woman she found a job as a waitress in Bethany where she walked to work. She also took in ironing to help make ends meet. She eventually went to work for AT&T where she had a career for 33 years until her retirement.

Billie loved music and she loved to dance. Eventually she remarried. She later purchased 10 acres in Choctaw, Oklahoma where she enjoyed her children and grandchildren as well as enjoyed her horses and dogs for many years. She became a very strong independent woman and we are all proud to call her our Mother.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Leslie Durwood Borum on August 2, 2009.

She is survived by her daughters, Judy Watson and her husband James of Edmond, OK and Barbara Gresham and her husband Charles of Owasso; her Grandchildren: Stephanie Lynn Slingo, Amy Cady, John Gresham, Rebecca Doherty, Olivia Rosson and Marcy Toler; her Great Grandchildren: Tori Brawner, Zoe Slingo, Courtney McKeating, Tyler Cady, Braden Gresham, Brooklyn Gresham, Madalyn Carson, Julien Carson, Ava Carson, Rhett Toler and Wren Toler; great, great Grandchildren, Maverick McKeating and Archie McKeating
