Obituary for Chub Ponder

John C. “Chub” Ponder went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 11, 2020 at the age of 79. The son of Fred C. Ponder & Lois (Temple) Ponder, he was born March 2, 1941 in Graham, Oklahoma. Chub graduated from Graham High School in 1959. Following graduation, he began a career with Phillips 66 at the age of 18, and worked in the oil and gas industry until his retirement. Chub was an avid rodeo follower. He loved traveling to watch the PBR and visited Arizona, New Mexico, and Las Vegas, just to name a few. Chub enjoyed tending to his lawn and garden, tinkering in the garage, and spending cherished moments with his family. He was a natural when it came to making people smile and laugh with his humor and quick wit. Chub was a loving husband, devoted father, grandfather, great grandfather & great-great grandfather, who will be forever missed.

He was preceded in death by his:
parents, Lois & Fred Ponder;
and one granddaughter, Ashley Layton

He leaves behind his:
Wife of the home, Edna Ponder;
Children Donna & husband Robert Enns; Connie & husband Thomas Cox; Leslie Klemke; Christine Schmidt; & Kenneth Klemke.
brothers: Lee Ponder & wife Linda; Ray Ponder & wife Sharrion
Five grandchildren: Kandice Sledge; Brandy Carter; Bethany Barbaree; Chancelor Barbaree; & Ronnie Klemke;
14 great grandchildren: Kali & Tyra Diaz; Peyton & Cameron Carter; Gracie and Reece Layton; Gabriel, Bentley, Asher, & Sebastian Wells; Emma, Bella, Blaine & Evelyn Klemke.
One great-great grandchild Lincoln Wallace
