Obituary for Kendall Higdon

Viewing will be from 4-8PM, Monday, November 23, 2020 with family present from 5-7PM at the funeral home.
A funeral service to celebrate Kendall’s life will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Vondel Smith Mortuary’s South Colonial Chapel (6934 S. Western Ave.) with burial to follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.

After 91 years of a life well lived, Kendall went to be with his Lord on November 20, 2020. He was born January 20, 1929 to Ray and Gertrude Higdon in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He grew up on a farm in Wheatland, OK and graduated from Mustang High School in 1947. Following graduation he married his high school sweetheart, Patricia Ann Selken on August 17, 1949 and remained married for over 62 years. Kendall served in the U.S. Naval reserve from 1951-1955 and then went on to receive his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration in 1962 at Oklahoma City University. He retired from Tinker Air Force Base in 1991 as a section chief in the cost accounting division. Kendall was a faithful member of the Asbury UMC for over 60 years, where he served on many committees. He was past president of Capitol Hill Lions Club where he was a member since 1991, as well as, the past president of the OKC Men's Bowling Association and was voted a lifetime member. He also bowled in the south side men’s church league for over 50 years while he also served as president for over 30 years. He enjoyed playing and watching a variety of sports. He played basketball and softball in high school and continued to play and umpire for both the softball and American legion baseball teams. Kendall was a hard worker, dedicated, devoted and loving family man. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Patricia; grandsons, Chad & Brian Roundtree; In-laws, Ray & Imogene Ebeling. He is survived by his daughters, Debbie Roundtree, Chris Lowmiller; brother, Dr. Leon Higdon; Sister-in-law, Mary Ann Higdon; grandchildren, Jared Lowmiller and wife, Tracie, Megan Hunt and husband, Bryan; 6 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and countless friends.
