Obituary for Elaine Ray Rycroft (Butts)
Elaine Ray (Butts) Rycroft was born August 9, 1944 in Urbana, MO the daughter of Benjamin Raymond and Opal Lee (Stewart) Butts. She completed this life on November 24th, 2020 at her home in Oklahoma City.
Elaine lived her early years in Missouri and moved to Oklahoma City in her early teen years. She spent her working years at ETI in Oklahoma City where she was responsible for Human Resources and adored by her fellow employees.
Elaine married Raymond Gale Rycroft in 1971. They raised their children in Oklahoma City where they were members of Crossings Community Church. They both retired the same day on September 1, 2007 and spent their retirement going to recitals, soccer, baseball, football, swimming, and all other activities of their grandchildren where they were a constant support for their beloved grandchildren. They were always together and cherished all their moments with their family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Butts; her mother and step-father, Opal and Robert Poe; her brother, Benjamin Butts, her sister, Madeline Bloedau, and her Grandson Logan Emberton.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Gale Rycroft; her sons, Jeffrey Linn Rycroft (Leslie) of Piedmont, Christopher Joseph Rycroft (Debi) of Edmond and Larry Don Rycroft (Christie) of Ada, OK; her daughters, Laura Lee Collins (Chris) of Pocasset, OK and Gayla Ann Scott (Chuck) of Stratford, OK; her sister, Mrs. June Carpenter of Stroud, OK; her grandchildren, Jacob Rycroft, Corbin Trenary, Sam Rycroft (Sophie), Taylor Rycroft, Austin Rycroft (Colby), Dylan Rycroft (Bailey), Austin Collins, Noah Collins, Ashton Rycroft (Brookelyn), Lexi Rycroft, Houston Murray, Deneka Murray and Ashley Murray; her great grandchildren, Camden Rycroft, Cooper Rycroft, Jacob Eddy, Josilyn Eddy, Lilly Eddy, Parker Wood, Braxton Murray, Zoley Emberton, and Leighton Emberton.
A private family service will be held in the chapel of Crossings Community Church.
Elaine lived a life that she was proud of, always giving love wherever she was, always making sure you knew how much she loved you, and always being a ray of light when it was needed most.
We will miss you wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and above all else, a ray of sunshine beaming from God.
