Obituary for Steve Pendergraft

Stephen Craig Pendergraft passed away on Monday, December 21, 2020 at St. Anthony hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma with his wife, Susan and sister-in-law, Laura Wright, by his side. Steve was 58 years old. Steve was born on September 30, 1962 in Oklahoma City to his parents, Harvey and Vera Pendergraft. Steve grew up in Oklahoma City where he graduated from Living Word Academy before attending Oklahoma Christian College. After college Steve notably worked at Stubb’s and Twid’s Sporting Goods, Audio Midwest, Clifton Lab, Pierce Automotive and City Collision Repair, jobs which echo Steve’s love of sports, music, working with his hands and cars, especially his ’68 Chevelle. Steve was a Christian and life-long member of the Church of Christ where he met his wife of 31 years, Susan Elizabeth Howerton. Steve and Susan were married on June 2, 1989. Steve and Susan lived in Moore before building a home in Newcastle, Oklahoma where they raised their two sons, Ryan Lee and Scott Michael. Steve enjoyed playing basketball, running, hunting with his brother-in-law, Scott Wright, and attending car shows with his dad, a “car guy” through and through. Most of all though, Steve enjoyed time spent with his family celebrating birthdays, watching football and basketball games, and connecting over Sunday dinner. Steve will be greatly missed by a host of family and friends. Steve was preceded in death by his grandparents R.H. and EvaLena Coffey and Harlen and Ethel Pendergraft; cousin, Kyle Henley; and father-in-law, Don Howerton. Steve is survived by loving wife, Susan Pendergraft of Newcastle, OK; sons Ryan Pendergraft of Yukon, OK and Scott Pendergraft and daughter-in-law Kylee of Mustang, OK; parents, Harvey and Vera Pendergraft of Oklahoma City, OK; sister, Renee Parasich of Oklahoma City, OK; and mother-in-law, Paula Howerton of Newcastle, OK; as well as many other extended family and friends.
