Obituary for Barbara Jean Bailey (Bailey)

Graveside service and burial will be 1:00 pm Wednesday December 30th, at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 500 SW 104th Street in Oklahoma City, OK.

Barbara Jean Bailey, 90, of Fairview, Oklahoma, passed away December 26, 2020. She was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1930 to Roy Barber Bailey and Marjorie Ellen Hicks Bailey. She was the second of three children. She graduated from Crooked Oak High School in 1949. That same summer she married her high school sweetheart James Walter “Dub” Bailey. Dub and Barbara were blessed with four children.
Barbara enjoyed gardening, homemaking and sewing. She donated her time and energy to several charitable causes, including a local thrift shop. She enjoyed traveling, visiting Europe, Central America, and New Zealand, among other global destinations. She was a member of Fairview Mothers Club and the United Methodist Women’s organization. She also volunteered at the Fairview Public Library and enjoyed helping out with Historical Society events.
She was preceded in death by her husband "Dub", brother Kenneth Bailey and sister Phyllis Carr. She is survived by daughter Deborah Woodruff and husband Tom, of Union Valley, Texas; daughter Kay Edwards of Fairview, Oklahoma; son Gary Bailey and wife, Ann, of Yukon, Oklahoma; and daughter Jamie Lee Curtis and husband Daryl, of Perry, Oklahoma. Barbara is survived by 11 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
