Obituary for Portia Louise Strickland (Trotter)
A graveside service for Portia Strickland will be 10 AM Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Resthaven Memory Gardens, 500 SW 104th Street, OKC.
Portia Louise Strickland, 80, of Oklahoma City, passed away January 16, 2021. She was born in Oklahoma City, OK on January 30, 1940 to J.C & Mildred Trotter. She married Marland Delano Strickland on October 14, 1957. She graduated from U.S. Grant High School. Portia enjoyed spending time with her family, her grandchildren and the monthly Dinner Club, with her close friends, the Gordey's, the Mauldin's, the Jordan's and the Hixson's. She also enjoyed her annual gathering with her friends from high school. She loved watching her grandchildren playing sports, watching the OKC Thunder and giving her two sons advice on life. The family rejoices in the fact that Portia is reunited with her husband, Marland and their precious daughter, Vicki.
Portia was preceded in death by her:
-Father, J.C. Trotter;
-Mother and stepfather, Mildred & Harry Sargent;
-Husband, Marland Strickland;
-Daughter, Vicki Lynn Strickland, on Feb. 24, 1975.
Portia is survived by her:
-Son, Mardy Strickland and wife Michelle;
-Son, Todd Strickland and wife Robyn;
-Grandsons, Brian and Zachary Strickland;
-Granddaughters, Hunter and Jade Strickland;
-Brother, John Trotter.
