Marion “Dick” Lester Honeycutt, 91, passed away surrounded by his family on February 1, 2021. He was born to James Lester and Bessie Irene (Johnson) Honeycutt in Meeker, Oklahoma on July 10, 1929. In 1951 he enlisted in the United States Army and served until January 1953. Dick married Carolyn Sue Norton on April 9, 1953 and from their union they had 3 children, Tom, Mark and Jan. He retired from the Federal Aviation Administration after 34 years of service.
Dick had a servants heart. He faithfully served his Lord, and his church as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher, bus driver, camp sponsor, a cook, or whatever was needed. He loved watching his kids, grandchildren and great grands playing sports.
Dick enjoyed working in his yard and tending to his garden. He also loved to fish for striped bass, but he’d take whatever fish he could catch. When he wasn’t fishing he could be found playing dominos and spending time with his family. He was our “Hero”!

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Carolyn Sue Honeycutt; children, Tom Honeycutt and wife, Kay, Mark Honeycutt and wife, Marsha, Jan Singleton and husband, Tim; sister, Dorothy Reed; 8 grandchildren, Blake Honeycutt and wife, Breanna, Eli Honeycutt and wife, Alena, Ben Honeycutt and wife, Meghan, Lyndsay Munson and husband, Luke, Whitney Waggoner and husband, Jerod, Haley Burson and husband, Eric, Kate Singleton, Ryan Singleton; 14 great grandchildren, Lainey, Miller, Griffin, Jack, Hayes, James, Owen, Ford, Baker, Thomas, Kip, Wynnie, Samuel, Sailor; and many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
