Norma Rae Skaggs went to her Heavenly home on November 29, 2015. She was born in Shawnee, OK to Dora and Woodrow Trombla, on January 5th, 1938. Norma grew up in south Oklahoma City and graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1956. She was happily married to Kenny Skaggs for 36 years. She was a long time member of Southern Hill Baptist Church, where she served faithfully through the years as class secretary and treasurer, in the senior adult choir, on the funeral dinner committee, the decorating committee, in the prayer room, and many other capacities through the years. She delighted in giving of her time, talents and possessions to others. She was an encourager and “best friend” to many who loved her dearly. She enjoyed playing cards with her church friends. Norma worked at Jude N Jody’s Furniture store, before being appointed tag agent at Red Cap Tag Agency, where she retired after 20 years. Norma was a big fan of country music and had many friends in that business. When visiting the Grand Ole Opry, she many times, got invited to come back stage to be with the stars. She was an excellent interior decorator, whether it be at her home, the church, a family or friend’s home, or just for a party, she always made it look beautiful. She loved to shop, and her delight was to get her SUV loaded with family and/or friends and go to Dallas and shop at the market. She liked to travel, and kept her suitcase ready to go. She and Kenny took many great trips with friends, sailing the ocean, traveling the United States, Alaska and abroad. Her greatest love was her family. She loved her husband, children, grandchildren, sister and nephews, with all her heart, and delighted in family get-togethers. Norma was great cook and homemaker. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Life will never be the same on this earth without her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dora and Woody Trombla, a step son, Kenny Skaggs Jr. and a step daughter Karen Skaggs. Those left to celebrate her life are her husband, Kenny Skaggs, Sr. of the home, son Chris Smith (Kathy) , daughter Mitzi Jay (Melvin) sister Peggy Noak all of OKC, step daughter Rhonda Snavely (Chris) of Moore, daughter-in-law Brenda Skaggs of OKC. She had 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 3 nephews. Also sister-in-law Betty Paxton (Clark) of Tuttle, Dorothy Martin of Newcastle and Laura Reynolds of Norman, many other dear relatives and friends..
