Visitation will be held Sunday June 26, 2016 at Vondel Smith Mortuary at South Lakes (4000 SW 119th St) from 12:00-8:00 PM with family greeting friends from 6:00-8:00 PM.


Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday, June 27, 2016 at Southern Hills Baptist Church (8601 S. Penn) in the Chapel.


Beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend, & one-of-a-kind OU Sooner fan went to be with the Lord on June 22, 2016. Jim was born July 18, 1929 in Ponca City, OK. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War at Ellsworth Air Force Base, SD. After graduating from Central State College in 1957 with a Chemistry degree, he completed a 30 year career in the petroleum industry with Gulf Oil and Chevron. At 86, he finished strong; spending 58 of those years united with his wife & best friend Marilyn. He is survived by Marilyn; children Kay Lynn & Don Arnold of Topeka, KS, Cary & Chrissy Conner of Oklahoma City; grandchildren Lindsay (Jared) Kooser, Nick Arnold, Taylor Arnold, Madison Auge, & Jake Conner. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Vernon & Mabel Conner; & brother Robert Conner. Memorials have been established with Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief BGCO or Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children, both at 3800 N. May Ave, OKC, OK, 73112.
