Helen Lorine Humphrey Dickson

Helen Lorine Humphrey Dickson, 82, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on September 5, 2016 in Oklahoma City, OK. Her broken body is finally healed and free of pain. She was born on May 27, 1934, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Ethridge and Lucile (Renfro) Humphrey. Helen graduated from Classen High School and attended the University of Oklahoma. She married her best friend, Richard Lavoy Dickson, on December 8, 1956. She worked in Accounting for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for several years. She was so efficient that they had to hire 3 workers to fill her position when she left to start her second career as a full time mom when her only child, daughter Lori, was born. She was always serving others whether it was volunteering at Lori’s schools, at church, or taking pictures to give to others. Helen never left home without her (film) camera! Helen is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Richard Dickson; daughter Lori Smith and her husband Dr. Randall Smith of Fort Collins, CO; granddaughter Meghan Caskey and her husband Campbell of Waco, TX; granddaughter Sarah Smith of Fort Collins, CO and Waco, TX; great-grandson Cole Caskey; nephews Randy Hooper and his wife Luise; Brad Humphrey and his wife Janie and their children Erin Buck and husband Allen and Wes Humphrey and wife Beth; Doug Humphrey and his wife Jeannie; Tracy Hartzler and his wife Liz; Nieces Barbara Mahan and her husband Jim and their children Michelle Mahan, Cory Mahan and wife Angela, and Nicole Webster and husband Keith; and Theresa Sollers; and sister-in-law Nadine Humphrey. She is preceded in death by her mother, Lucile; her father, Ethridge Milton; brothers Ethridge Milton Humphrey Jr. and Herbert Humphrey; sisters Lou Hooper, Thelma Oldham and Marie Hartzler; nephews Thomas Hooper and Richard LeMahieu. Services will be held at Metropolitan Baptist Church, 7201 W. Britton Rd. OKC 73132 at 1:00 pm Saturday, September 10, 2016. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 9, 2016 with family present 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary, 13125 N. Macarthur.
