Viewing will be held Thursday, January 5th and Friday, January 6th from 4-8pm at the funeral home (6934 S. Western).

Services to honor her life will be held 2:00pm Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the South Colonial Chapel (6934 S. Western). Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City (13313 N Kelley Ave).

Nadine Thompson, 95, was born in Girard, TX, March 12, 1921. She entered Heaven’s gates January 3, 2017. She was predeceased by her parents, daughter Ginny McCathren Knight Field, 2 sisters and 1 brother. Nadine was the consummate giver with an extraordinary kind heart. Before starting her 40+ year career with Southwestern Bell, Nadine was a proud Rosie Riveter during WWII. Her patriotic spirit and love of her country was shown through her dedication to many service organizations. Nadine was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 184 for more than 50 years serving as President, organizing fundraisers & honoring our American Veterans. She served as Chairman of the Activity Center at the Veterans Center in Norman for many years. One of the many projects she loved was working with her great friend Polly & husband Jim on Christmas stockings full of treats for the Veterans Center in Norman. Nadine’s kind heart and passion of building character in young people led her to The Boys & Girls Clubs where she worked with delegates for Girls State each year. Left to cherish her memory is her husband Jim Rogers; son Joe McCathren; granddaughters Tammy Daily, Cindy Murphy, Deana McCathren, JoLynn Ybarra, & Carey Baughman; grandsons Steve Knight & Donald Knight; sister Francis Helm; brother Son Parker; stepdaughters Kay Rogers & Kathy Moody; stepsons Mike Rogers & Pat Rogers; 10 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins & a host of friends & loved ones. “Well done, thou good and faithful servant…Enter thou into the joy of thy Lord” Matthew 25:21
