My police story of Randy

I knew Randy for over 20 years. Worked side by side on patrol with him, at Forum Mall and MANY part time jobs. Our families knew each other and he was there when my family or I needed him. Randy was as much a brother to me as are my three natural brothers. I have heard stories of Randy at the service, read them here and on Facebook from fellow officers who knew/worked with Randy so I have to put out one of my own, hope your sitting down and have your cup of coffee because its a long one. Randy and I were sent to a domestic in my beat. When we got there Randy went to the women and I went to the guy. I could see that the women had been beaten up. The guy was a real loud mouth, saying that he didn't do it, we shouldn't be there etc. I saw him look over my shoulder behind me, I turned and saw Randy walking toward us. I have seen Randy mad many times but this time was BAD. Randy had this "look" on his face and I knew it was going to hit the fan. I turned toward Randy to stop him because I knew where this was going! See, Randy hated it when women were hit for any reason. You just don't touch a women in anger. I told Randy to stop but he kept coming, never taking his eyes off the guy, still mouthing. I had to put my hand on Randy and tell him NO. He continued to keep walking. I told Randy that this was my call, my beat and I was the senior officer and to go back to the women and start the domestic violence paper work and that I would make the arrest and transport. Luckily he did what I asked, walked backwards and never took his eyes off of the guy. I turned back around to the guy and he was chalk white and had stopped talking. I told him that he was under arrest and that he could cooperate with me or I could call the other officer back to make the arrest. No kidding.... the guy turned around and put his hands behind his back and never said another word without being asked. I will miss you Randy and I will see you again my friend.
