Clyde Alva Christian, 96, was born November 30, 1919 at Maud, Oklahoma to Alva and Zella May (Jett) Christian. He died Sunday, June 5, 2016 at Lexington, Oklahoma. He was a WWII veteran serving in Europe with the Eight Air Force. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for completing twenty five combat missions, a Distinguished Unit Badge, the Air Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, an Overseas Service Bar and a Presidential Citation. Clyde was a long time member of Southern Ridge Church of Christ where he faithfully attended. Clyde loved life and loved to have fun. He loved to play games, especially cards and dominoes. He was one of seven children and he and his sisters all lived past 90 years old. Clyde was involved in the public school system for 35 years. He taught and served as a principal all over Seminole county from Konawa to Cromwell. Clyde was all about farming and agriculture, even to the very end.
Clyde was preceded in death by:
• His parents
• His wife of 63 years, Jean
• Four brothers and two sisters
Survivors include:
• His Daughter, Brenda and husband Wayne Ward of Washington, Oklahoma
• Grandsons: Christopher Ward of Phoenix, Arizona, Scott and wife Amanda Ward of Denver Colorado, and Patrick Ward of Moore, Oklahoma
• Great Grandson, Oliver Scott Ward
• And many nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family and many friends
